Episode #62: Artificial Intelligence Is Here So Why Not Use It?

 My need for Artificial Intelligence (AI) in these days of retirement has little to no use in my everyday life, however I believe I would have been a grand user of it while I was still working. During my working years I have created many work flow processes, manuals, policies, etc. where AI would have been a great tool for me and a huge time saver.

While I have used it for real value recently while working on my classic car and it was a real benefit to me, but now the main engine of use for me is ChatGPT and it is a real whiz at creating entertaining images from old photos and adding in a few interesting prompts.

It may be considered by some as a waste of time, but while it is fun and novel for the moment, I am about out of ideas for new pictures. A couple of the following are created by Jacob and they make me laugh.

I thought I would share a few of them in this episode. 

This photo is me at 17 years old shaking hands with my 68 year old self. The younger picture was taken my senior year in high school in 1975.

This next image is a school picture of me in 6th grade in 1969 hanging out with old man me. I thought it to be an interesting concept photo.

Since I liked my picture above so much, I thought it only fair to include a similar photo with Carol Ann and her younger self and I have to say that I love it.

This next picture is my oldest son at about the same age of his oldest son playing with cars on the floor.

This next photo was created by my youngest son as a parody to a real life event. About a year ago a local drive in burger joint had a summer special of corny dogs for .99 cents each. They were pretty small and I did not think that two of them would be enough so I ordered four. That sin of gluttony caught up to me and I had a stomach ache for the rest of the day. Thanks for picture son, even if it was at my expense, I deserve it.

Jacob and I are both fans of The Lord of the Ring trilogy and he created this photo of us fighting the battle of middle earth, in our cycling kits. Funny and another example of the crazy stuff you can come up with using AI.

After sharing some of these unique and silly artificial photos with my sister, she asked me to make one of her younger self telling her older self to not get old and fat. This is what I created for her. She approved.

Since hers turned out favorable, I thought I might do one for me as a kid (my school picture from the 5th grade) advising me as an adult to work hard, save money and plan for the future.

I created this picture from a picture of me while playing high school football (the original photo was taken my senior year in the fall of 1974) and me as an old man cheering me on from the side line.

With the picture above as inspiration, Jacob creates a couple of versions of the original for me and he made a very novel and realistic photo from the original idea. I appreciate it and though I never played in a big game like this, but that would have been fun.

One of the fun things I have done was buying this classic car. While it is not my first one, this 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass S is definitely my favorite one so far. Some times I feel like a kid when I drive it. The image includes me as an adult when I bought the car and the younger me was taken as a school picture the same year in 1970.

As I close this chapter I will include a couple more silly photos that I created using my two dogs as the stars. Granted these two dogs are lazy and some days the most excitement they get is when I come outside to pet them and feed them. I thought this fit their personalities. In this photo Trixie and Chief say because this is Chinese food they will be hungry again in an hour or so.

Here is the last one where Chief and Trixie say cheers, and if they could talk I know they would say "Stay thirsty my friends". Though I know that is the wrong product for the catch line, but after all remember they are only dogs.
